SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

About the Role

We are seeking a professional and dedicated Senior Financial Analyst who is passionate about growing the S&T brand through meaningful financial insights to drive action and decision making.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain complex financial models in order to develop accurate monthly financial reporting and dashboards, including operating segment income statements and consolidated income statements
    • Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports, dashboards and presentations for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and critical financial metrics
    • Collaborate with department heads to understand and analyze budget variances and provide actionable recommendations and insights for cost optimization and revenue enhancement
    • Develop, implement and report on key performance metrics to measure and track the financial health of the company
  • Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial Planning:
    • Support the development of the annual budget in alignment with both departmental strategic objectives and the company's overall strategic objectives
    • Work closely with department heads to establish annual budget targets by using prior year actuals, trend analyses, understanding of business processes and by running sensitivity and scenario analyses
  • Expense Management:
    • Track and analyze operating expenses, including identifying areas to teams for cost optimization
    • Provide guidance on expense management to departments to ensure financial efficiency and that annual budgets are met
    • Prepare budget vs. actuals variance reports to teams to identify areas of savings and pressures
  • Audit and Control:
    • Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial and operational controls
    • Identify areas of material risk and misstatement and provide recommendations for enhancing internal processes
    • Ensure compliance with established internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
    • Design, implement and monitor internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets and data, including cybersecurity
  • Ad-hoc projects and financial analyses, as required

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, and/or other relevant business area
  • Degree in accounting or business/commerce, with preference for those who have completed a relevant industry-recognized certification (e.g. CPA)
  • Strong knowledge of business fundamentals and analytical skills with ability to draw insights and convey complex information in a straightforward manner
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities with little direction in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Excel
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, strong communication skills and personally interested in health and fitness
