Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, general ledger accounts, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and periodic reporting.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns, as required.
• Review financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Organize and maintain accounting files and records.
• Communicate with clients regarding financial documents and information as needed.
• Support other accounting-related duties and projects as required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Previous experience in an accounting role; experience in public accounting is an asset.
• Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
• CPA designation or progress toward a CPA designation is an asset.
