Are you a seasoned accounting professional with proven, hands-on experience managing full-cycle financials, Canadian GAAP compliance, and CRA filings? Nasir Shariff & Company is seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee general ledger operations, financial statement preparation, and corporate tax reporting. Step into a key role where your proven expertise drives financial clarity and integrity!

BRING YOUR EXPERTISE TO NASIR SHARIFF & COMPANY

At Nasir Shariff & Company, financial accuracy, statutory compliance, and operational integrity are the cornerstones of our practice. We are seeking a reliable, detail-driven Accountant with proven previous experience in full-cycle accounting to lead day-to-day financial operations and reporting.

This role requires someone who can hit the ground running—confidently managing reconciliations, preparing audit-ready financial statements, and navigating Canadian tax regulations without requiring basic training. If you have a solid track record in financial management, advanced software skills, and a commitment to precision, we want to hear from you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full-Cycle Accounting Operations: Independently manage the general ledger, oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable (AP/AR), and conduct complex monthly bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements with comprehensive supporting schedules and working papers.
  • CRA & Canadian GAAP Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Canadian GAAP / ASPE standards and CRA statutory requirements; prepare and file GST/HST returns, T4 summaries, and corporate tax reporting packages.
  • Forecasting & Audit Support: Assist leadership with annual budget preparation, periodic cash-flow forecasting, variance analysis, and audit file compilation for internal and external reviews.
  • Software & Process Management: Maintain clean digital audit trails and maximize efficiency using industry-standard accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel models.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE MANDATORY)

  • Verifiable Experience: Prior hands-on professional accounting experience is required. Must have a documented track record of managing full-cycle accounting workflows, month-end closes, and Canadian tax filings.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related discipline.
  • Professional Credential: CPA designation or actively enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) is strongly preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth working knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/GAAP) and CRA corporate tax, payroll, and sales tax regulations.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency with accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (pivot tables, complex formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
  • Professional Standards: Exceptional analytical capability, uncompromising ethics, and the demonstrated ability to manage tight reporting deadlines independently.

WHY JOIN OUR FIRM?

  • Autonomous & Respected Role: Direct ownership over full-cycle accounts with room to refine and enhance existing reporting processes.
  • Professional, Collaborative Environment: Work alongside experienced peers who value open communication, technical excellence, and mutual support.
  • Stability & Long-Term Value: Play a central, high-impact role in safeguarding the financial health and regulatory standing of the organization.
