Construction Project Manager Location: Bradford, Ontario

Our client is an established construction company specializing in municipal and commercial landscape construction, civil infrastructure and site development. Their projects range from municipal parks and playgrounds to recreational facilities, earthworks and larger civil construction developments. They are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple projects from initial planning through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a financially driven project management professional who enjoys taking ownership of budgets, profitability, scheduling and stakeholder relationships. Working closely with Site Superintendents, subcontractors, consultants and senior management, you will play a key role in delivering projects safely, on schedule and within budget. This is primarily an office-based position with regular site visits, rather than a full-time, on-site supervisory role. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Management
  • Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, from startup through to completion.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, resource plans and procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate with the Vice President of Operations, Site Superintendents and project teams.
  • Monitor project milestones, identify potential delays and implement corrective actions.
Financial Management & Cost Control
  • Prepare and manage project budgets using established costing systems.
  • Monitor project costs, profitability and overall financial performance.
  • Identify budget variances and proactively address potential cost overruns.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and present project updates to senior management and the Financial Controller.
  • Maintain financial accountability for project performance and profitability.
Subcontractor & Supplier Management
  • Negotiate subcontractor agreements and material supplier pricing.
  • Award subcontractor contracts and coordinate procurement activities.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Ensure labour, equipment and materials are planned in advance to support project schedules.
Site Coordination & Quality Control
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and quality.
  • Work closely with Site Superintendents to address construction challenges.
  • Verify work complies with contract drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
  • Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Support compliance with company health and safety procedures.
Client & Stakeholder Relationships
  • Maintain effective communication with project owners, consultants, landscape architects and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate project requirements with internal teams and senior management.
  • Resolve conflicts professionally and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Build and strengthen relationships within the municipal and construction sectors.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of construction experience in a management or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience managing construction projects valued at over $1 million.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong experience with project budgeting, cost control and financial reporting.
  • Experience negotiating subcontractor agreements and supplier contracts.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong project planning, scheduling and resource coordination skills.
  • Experience working with Site Superintendents, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A relevant technical diploma or undergraduate degree.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in one or more of the following areas will be considered a strong asset:
  • Municipal construction, parks and playgrounds.
  • Civil infrastructure and site development.
  • Commercial landscape construction, including hardscaping and softscaping.
  • Earthworks, excavation, grading and site preparation.
  • Recreational facility construction.
  • Working with landscape architects and municipal project owners.
  • ESP-based construction costing systems or Maestro software.
  • C.E.T., B.Eng. or P.Eng. designation.
  • Additional health and safety training.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $100,000–$110,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Two weeks of vacation.
  • Health benefits.
  • Company cellphone.
  • Company laptop.
  • Opportunity to manage diverse municipal, civil and commercial construction projects.
Please note: A company vehicle is not provided with this position. Who Will Succeed in This Role? The ideal candidate is a hands-on, commercially minded Construction Project Manager who understands both the operational and financial sides of construction. You are comfortable managing multiple projects, holding subcontractors accountable, working alongside Site Superintendents and taking ownership of budgets and profitability. Experience in municipal construction, civil site development or commercial landscape construction would be particularly valuable. Candidates with an ICI construction background will also be considered if they demonstrate strong financial accountability and relevant project management experience. If you are looking for an opportunity to manage meaningful construction projects while contributing to parks, recreational spaces and community infrastructure, we would welcome your application. Fuze HR Solutions is committed to building a diverse, accessible, and equitable workforce. Our approach is twofold. Both internal, where we focus on creating a diverse and inclusive environment for our employees, and external, where we source and recruit from the most diverse candidate pools.
