Our client, a large general contractor with an employee ownership program, is seeking Project Managers to join their Edmonton commercial buildings team. This role suits a commercial construction Project Manager who wants autonomy, mentorship and a clear path to senior roles.

Position Overview:

Manage commercial construction projects for the Edmonton buildings team, with project values up to $250 million. Projects include defence, healthcare, long-term care, multi-family and high-rise towers. Openings are at the intermediate levels (PM3, PM2 and PM1), and the client is also open to Senior Project Managers. Financial authority grows with level, and PM1s lead large project teams, manage direct reports and mentor junior staff. On large projects, the Project Manager works from the site trailer alongside the superintendent.

Responsibilities:

• Manage project budgets, financials and forecasts from start to finish.
• Price and manage change orders within the financial authority of your level.
• Keep projects on schedule and hit every contractual milestone and deliverable.
• Build and manage project schedules in Primavera P6.
• Run forecasting and data tracking in InEight.
• Lead client and trade partner meetings, and respond quickly to client questions.
• Keep trade partners aligned and build strong working relationships with them throughout the project.
• Work closely with the site superintendent, from the site trailer on large projects, to coordinate daily operations.
• Coordinate trade meetings and day-to-day project operations.
• Lead the project team, including project coordinators and, on larger projects, direct reports.
• Mentor junior team members and support their soft skills and career development.
• Deliver project documentation on time and to standard.
• Take personal accountability for budget, milestones and deliverables.

Must Have Qualifications:

• 10+ years of project management experience in construction (ICI)

• Experience on Defence Construction Canada (DCC) projects
• Experience on data centres
• Experience managing projects over $50 million
• Experience with a large or Tier 1 general contractor
