From complimentary full-service amenities and an unparalleled range of yoga, Pilates, HIIT, indoor cycling, HYROX, and Lagree Megaformer classes powered by top-of-the-line fitness equipment, custom-programmed lighting, immersive projection screens and state-of-the-art sound systems, to premium spa, recovery and high-tech biohacking amenities - every aspect of S&T has been designed to deliver a best-in-class experience with a hospitality approach. With premium spa facilities, café, and bar offerings, members can recharge, recover, and reignite. Tonic House, the multi-functional lounge, workspace and event venue, inspires collaboration and innovation. Since opening in 2019, S&T has innovated and expanded state-of-the art classes across multiple channels: In-studio, Sweat in the Park, Sweat Live, Sweat on Demand, and Sweat on the Roof – a one-of-a-kind, outdoor rooftop fitness studio in the heart of downtown Toronto. In spring 2023, S&T opened its first international sister location, Silver Springs, a boutique yoga and Pilates oasis in the heart of Los Angeles, and opened its second location in Toronto at The Well in December 2023. S&T expanded the brand in June 2025 with a new concept studio, Reformd - the world's largest-capacity Lagree studio, and will be bringing a fourth location in Toronto's prestigious Yorkville neighbourhood in 2026. S&T was the recipient of the 2023 Mariana Tek Lasting Community Award, 2023 ClassPass Best Studio Award, and the Mariana Tek Best of Boutique Fitness Awards for 2024 and 2025, recognizing the highest studio attendance and commitment to innovation and excellence.

About the role:

We're looking for Assistant Instructors who bring a strong foundation in movement, a passion for fitness, and a natural ability to connect with people. Working alongside S&T's Strength Instructors, you'll be an active coaching presence on the studio floor, helping members move with confidence, get the most out of their training, and feel supported throughout every class. You'll provide hands-on coaching, movement guidance, modifications, and encouragement while helping create the high-energy, community-driven experience S&T is known for. This is an opportunity to gain meaningful coaching experience in one of Toronto's leading boutique fitness environments, learn alongside experienced Instructors, and sharpen your skills through real-time coaching, feedback, and mentorship.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Support S&T Instructors in delivering an exceptional Strength class experience
  • Coach members on movement quality, technique, and exercise execution
  • Provide appropriate modifications and progressions to support a range of fitness levels
  • Offer encouragement, motivation, and individual attention throughout class
  • Help create an energetic, inclusive, and welcoming environment where every member feels seen
  • Assist with exercise demonstrations, class transitions, equipment setup, and studio resets
  • Build genuine relationships with members and contribute to the S&T community
  • Participate in ongoing coaching, training, and team development
  • Live the S&T brand values and lead by example: sweat the details, push the boundaries, be relentless in finding a way, stay in it together, and invest in our community
  • Represent Sweat and Tonic with professionalism and pride both in and out of the studio

About you:

We're interested in people with a strong movement foundation, coaching potential, and a genuine interest in creating exceptional fitness experiences. You may be a kinesiology student or graduate, newly certified trainer, emerging fitness professional, or someone with relevant coaching experience who's ready to gain more hands-on experience in a premium group fitness environment.

  • Able to demonstrate exercises with strong form, control, and confidence
  • Coachable and eager to learn
  • Proactive and comfortable taking initiative
  • Reliable, professional, and accountable
  • Energized by fast-paced, community-driven environments
  • Committed to creating an inclusive and supportive experience for every member

Requirements & expectations:

  • Commitment to an initial 12-week term, with the opportunity to extend
  • Availability for two to four 3-hour shifts per week
  • Availability that includes early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends
  • Availability to work at our Yonge and Yorkville location
  • Current CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain
  • Fitness certification, relevant education, coaching experience, or equivalent training experience

Nice to have:

  • Personal Training, Strength, or other recognized fitness certification
  • Kinesiology, fitness, health, or related educational background
