This individual will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and external partners to support production schedules, customer commitments, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate team priorities, workload distribution, and staffing coverage to support production schedules, receiving, cycle counting, and shipping requirements.

  • Oversee purchasing activities, including purchase order creation, supplier commitments, lead times, pricing, and order fulfillment.

  • Monitor material shortages, supplier delays, and purchasing risks, developing and implementing recovery plans to minimize disruptions to production and customer deliveries.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while supporting supplier sourcing, evaluation, performance reviews, and cost-reduction initiatives.

  • Oversee material planning to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained to support manufacturing, service, and customer requirements.

  • Monitor inventory accuracy, stock levels, safety stock, reorder points, and excess or obsolete inventory, investigating variances and implementing corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering to coordinate material readiness for production schedules, new product introductions, engineering changes, and product transitions.

  • Supervise warehouse activities, including receiving, material handling, storage, picking, packing, and shipping, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments with freight carriers, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers.

  • Monitor freight costs, shipment status, customs documentation, and carrier performance while resolving transportation delays and service issues.

  • Ensure purchasing, inventory, receiving, and shipping transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP/MRP system, maintaining data integrity across supply chain operations.

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators related to supplier delivery, inventory accuracy, material shortages, inventory turns, purchasing costs, and freight performance.

  • Prepare operational reports, identify performance trends, and recommend improvements to service levels, cost efficiency, quality, and delivery timelines.

  • Identify and implement process improvements through standardization, root cause analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support ERP system enhancements, implementations, upgrades, data migrations, and master-data maintenance as required.

  • Maintain accurate procedures, records, and documentation to support operational consistency, quality standards, and audit readiness.

  • Promote a safe, collaborative, and accountable work environment while ensuring supply chain activities align with established procedures and business requirements.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, procurement, material planning, inventory control, warehousing, or logistics.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising employees, leading a team, or coordinating operational priorities.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required; exposure to automation, technology, healthcare, medical devices, or other regulated industries is considered an asset.

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

  • Strong understanding of procurement, supplier management, inventory control, material planning, warehousing, and logistics operations.

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems to support purchasing, inventory management, material planning, and warehouse transactions.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Business Central, Finance & Operations, SAP, Epicor, NetSuite, Oracle, or a similar ERP platform.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reporting, data analysis, and operational tracking.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies, resolve material constraints, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop employees, delegate responsibilities, establish clear expectations, and hold team members accountable.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal departments, suppliers, and logistics partners.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety, quality, service, cost control, and on-time delivery.

  • Experience with cross-border shipping, customs documentation, international logistics, or ERP implementation projects is considered an asset.
