General Laborer

Rex Services is seeking a full-time General Laborer to support daily operations in an organic wastewater and grease recycling facility. This role is a janitorial and maintenance role located located in Scarborough, Ontario. This position is for a hard-working individual who enjoys physical labor and isn't afraid to get dirty and unaffected by changing weather conditions.

Requirements:

• A valid provincial driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Able to lift heavy equipment and climb ladders for general maintenance.
• Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
• Unbothered by dirt, smells, and noise while working in the plant.
• Able to communicate in Cantonese or Mandarin to converse with drivers and other general labor plant staff. English as a second language is an asset.

Physical Demands:

• Climbing ladders, standing and repetitive motions
• Various weather conditions
• Bending and twisting
• Work in an open vehicle environment.

Job Summary:

Common duties include loading and unloading materials, cleaning and maintaining work sites, operating basic tools or equipment, and assisting skilled tradespeople or machine operators.

• Maintain all safety standards.
• De-grease, clean, and repair/ refurbish used-cooking oil containers.
• Proficient with tools to repair and maintain equipment in the plant.
• Move tools, equipment, or other material as directed from place to place, according to direction from the Plant Manager.
• Assist machine operators and other workers.
• Emergency cleanup for oil spills with absorbent, exchange tank with a hole, etc.
• Friendly and respectful demeanor when working with Rex Services staff and customers.
• Ad hoc requests to set up a custom container inside for customers.
