Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our clients. This is an in office position and not a remote position.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
• Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
• Report analysis and findings to the management team
• Leading assurance engagements
• Preparing assurance and compilation files
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements according to GAAP
• Reviewing T1's as well as preparing corporate, trust, and personal income tax returns
• Communicating with clients, internal staff, and firm partners effectively
• Completing various reports such as GST, EHT, WSIB, T4, T5, and T3 slips and returns; and, analyzing budgets and cash flow.

Qualifications:

• 5 years in a PUBLIC ACCOUNTING FIRM
• Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
• Thorough knowledge of ASPE and ASNFPO
• Knowledge of Caseware, Caseview, and TaxPrep
• Access to a vehicle to travel within the GTA and surrounding areas
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English to interact directly with clients.
• Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
