About Solar Power Store

Solar Power Store is a Canadian solar energy company based in Barrie, Ontario, providing solar equipment, system design, and complete renewable energy solutions across Canada. We serve residential, commercial, agricultural, off-grid, grid-tied, and hybrid solar customers, helping Canadians transition to reliable and sustainable energy solutions.

About the Role

We are looking for a results-driven Local Sales Manager to lead sales growth, develop the local market, and build a high-performing sales pipeline.

This role combines sales leadership, business development, CRM optimization, and revenue growth. You will oversee the sales process from lead generation through closing, identify new market opportunities, support Sales Advisors, and continuously improve systems and strategies to increase conversions and monthly revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow Solar Power Store's local residential and commercial sales pipeline.
  • Develop strategies to generate and convert high-quality leads and new business opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand into new customer segments, partnerships, and local markets.
  • Manage, coach, and support Sales Advisors to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Monitor sales activity, conversion rates, pipeline value, and monthly revenue performance.
  • Optimize Close CRM, lead follow-ups, sales workflows, automation, and reporting.
  • Develop effective sales processes, scripts, playbooks, and training materials.
  • Analyze sales data to identify opportunities to improve close rates and shorten the sales cycle.
  • Work closely with marketing to improve lead generation, campaigns, and conversion.
  • Collaborate with design, operations, purchasing, and installation teams to ensure a smooth customer transition from sale to installation.
  • Build strong relationships with local customers, businesses, partners, and referral sources.
  • Stay informed about Canadian solar incentives, market trends, competitors, and customer needs.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, partnerships, and recurring revenue.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales management, business development, sales operations, or team leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a sales pipeline and consistently achieve revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of sales funnels, lead generation, prospecting, and conversion strategies.
  • Experience using CRM systems, preferably Close CRM.
  • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to coach and motivate sales team members.
  • Strong understanding of sales metrics, KPIs, and performance reporting.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in solar or renewable energy.
  • Experience managing sales teams in solar, construction, home improvement, HVAC, roofing, or other high-value industries.
  • Experience building automated sales funnels and lead-nurturing systems.
  • Knowledge of Canadian solar incentives, net metering, financing, and provincial programs.
  • Existing relationships within the local residential, commercial, or construction market.
  • Experience with Close CRM, SolarGraf, Aurora Solar, or similar platforms.

Key Success Metrics

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Growth in qualified leads and sales opportunities.
  • Increased sales conversion and close rates.
  • Consistent monthly and quarterly revenue growth.
  • Improved sales team performance.
  • Increased CRM and sales-process efficiency.
  • Reduced customer acquisition costs.
  • Growth in local partnerships and new customer segments.
  • Improved customer retention, referrals, upselling, and cross-selling.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a hands-on sales leader and growth-focused professional who can both develop strategy and execute it. You understand how to build a pipeline, coach salespeople, use data to make decisions, and turn opportunities into revenue.

You are entrepreneurial, competitive, organized, and passionate about renewable energy—and you're ready to help grow Solar Power Store's presence in the local market.
