We are seeking a Tailor/Seamstress to provide precise alterations, repairs, fittings, and garment construction support across formalwear, bridalwear, everyday clothing, uniforms, workwear, and other garment types. The role will serve customers through appointment-based fittings, walk-in consultations, and retail-staff referrals, using industrial and domestic sewing machines along with specialized pressing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform garment alterations, repairs, and basic pattern adjustments.
- Conduct customer fitting sessions through appointments, walk-ins, and retail referrals.
- Cut fabric and adjust patterns for accurate garment fit.
- Complete hand-stitching and machine-sewing operations.
- Work with formalwear, bridalwear, everyday clothing, uniforms, and workwear.
- Use industrial and domestic sewing machines and specialized pressing equipment.
- Identify textiles and select appropriate construction or alteration techniques.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with industrial sewing machines.
- Knowledge of pattern making and pattern adjustments.
- Experience with garment fitting, fabric cutting, and alteration techniques.
- Skilled in hand sewing and machine sewing.
- Ability to identify textiles.
- Strong attention to detail, customer service, and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in tailoring and garment construction.
- Certificate in tailoring, dressmaking, or apparel construction.
