Job Overview:

The client banking technology team seeks an experienced Technical Architect to design application systems, define architecture patterns, modernize technology stacks, and serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology partners. Reporting to the Director of Architecture, the candidate will oversee technical planning and execution of transformational projects that enhance internal operations and external capabilities based on organization systems and third-party solutions to ensure business values are delivered. This contract-to-hire role offers the opportunity to demonstrate impact and transition to a permanent position within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop architecture documentation and designs of system landscapes, identifying gaps between current and desired end states.
  • Design application infrastructure including databases, programming languages, and testing approaches.
  • Manage data integrations across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Solve complex technical challenges and enterprise-wide platform requirements.
  • Evaluate new technologies and solutions for business benefits.
  • Lead detailed design of enterprise-level technology projects from inception to production, supervising configuration, quality assurance testing, and deployment.
  • Create prototypes and proofs of concept with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate platform capabilities, security, compliance, AI, and APIs, showing how solutions integrate into enterprise architecture.
  • Design and architect platform-driven solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes and seamlessly integrate with existing systems.
  • Bridge platform, product, security, and technology teams, providing structured feedback to shape integration strategy.
  • Conduct technical Client sessions, deliver custom demos, and guide stakeholders through assessment of business and technical requirements.
  • Create project scope documents, technical specs, statements of work, and reusable solution playbooks to enable consistent implementation across accounts.
  • Work on third-party systems, document management solutions, and data integrations.
  • Collaborate with support and technology teams on system changes.
  • Mentor developers and technical professionals on best practices.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to implementation teams.
  • Lead technical training for users and stakeholders.
  • Support IT governance and strategy alignment with business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • 8+ years of experience designing and managing software projects with distributed computing, microservices, and integrations.
  • 5+ years of experience in technology development in financial services.
  • Experience delivering large-scale data platforms and enterprise solutions.
  • Experience working on third-party systems and document management systems.
  • Capital Markets or financial services industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of integration technologies, single sign-on, Enterprise Mobility Management, BYOK, Data Masking, Data Loss Prevention, and cloud solution architecture patterns.
  • Hands-on technical ability with programming languages including Python, TypeScript, Node.js, and MongoDB, alongside expertise in REST APIs, JSON, DevOps, and infrastructure considerations.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Linux, and Windows.
  • Proficiency in cloud architecture, microservices, and APIs.
  • Strong REST API and JSON knowledge with the ability to address technical questions.
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and security best practices.
  • On-premises to cloud and cloud-to-cloud integration experience.
  • Ability to define system architectures and identify gaps between current and desired states.
  • Ability to design scalable, performance-driven solutions handling large data volumes.
  • Understanding of data fabric/mesh concepts and data architecture principles.
  • Agile and Scrum methodology experience.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
