Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: 14 days on / 7 days off, 10-hour shifts Reports To: Site Wide Services Foreman
About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Warehouse & Materials Handling Labourer to join our Warehouse team at Highland Valley Copper. This multi-year construction project is expected to run through the end of 2027.
As a key member of the warehouse operations team, you will support daily shipping, receiving, materials handling, inventory organization, and laydown yard activities. Working primarily outdoors, you will assist with the safe movement of materials and equipment while ensuring warehouse and storage areas remain organized, efficient, and compliant with site safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily warehouse and materials-handling operations.
- Assist with shipping and receiving of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Pilot delivery trucks and transport vehicles safely into and out of security gates and designated warehouse or laydown areas.
- Spot forklifts, loaders, telehandlers, skid steers, and other mobile equipment during loading, unloading, and material movement activities.
- Assist with loading, unloading, staging, organizing, and distributing materials throughout the project site.
- Maintain accurate material locations and organized warehouse, storage, and laydown areas.
- Assist with receiving documentation, shipping paperwork, inventory tracking, and material records.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse facilities and outdoor laydown yards.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, equipment operators, warehouse personnel, and supervision.
- Follow established traffic management plans, exclusion zones, and spotting procedures.
- Identify hazards, damaged materials, inventory discrepancies, or safety concerns and report them promptly.
- Assist with inventory counts, material tracking, and stock organization.
- Support the safe loading and unloading of construction materials and equipment deliveries.
- Assist warehouse personnel with general labour duties as required.
- Follow all site safety regulations, procedures, and policies at all times.
- Adapt to changing priorities and operational requirements throughout the shift.
- Perform other duties as required to support project success and client expectations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-access drug and alcohol screening.
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts on a 14 days on / 7 days off rotation.
- Ability to work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
- Physically capable of performing warehouse and materials-handling duties, including lifting, carrying, bending, and prolonged standing or walking.
- Comfortable working around delivery trucks, heavy equipment, and active warehouse operations.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and hazard awareness.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Team-oriented, dependable, and willing to assist where required in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Assets:
- Previous warehouse, logistics, or materials-management experience.
- Shipping and receiving experience.
- Experience with inventory control, material tracking, documentation, or data entry.
- Forklift operating experience.
- Loader operating experience.
- Skid steer operating experience.
- Telehandler operating experience.
- Previous experience spotting or directing mobile equipment.
- Experience working in industrial, construction, mining, or large-scale project environments.
- Additional safety training such as WHMIS, First Aid, or Ground Disturbance.
- Experience working around heavy equipment and delivery vehicles.
Additional Information:
- Shift Schedule: 14 days on / 7 days off, 10-hour shifts.
- Shuttle Service Provided: Transportation to and from the Highland Valley Copper mine site will be available from Kamloops and Merritt.
- Preference for local candidates or those willing to commute to shuttle pick-up points.
- Work Environment: Primarily outdoor work in warehouse laydown yards and material-storage areas with exposure to varying weather conditions.
