As a QAQC Lead - Electrical, you will:

Planning and Documentation

  • Prepare Electrical Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and inspection records.
  • Establish inspection hold points, witness points, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure quality records are complete, legible, traceable, and properly approved.
  • Review subcontractor quality plans, procedures, and ITPs.

Inspections and Testing

  • Inspect installation activities for compliance with approved drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate and witness inspections and tests in accordance with approved ITPs.
  • Oversee receiving inspections, and ensure equipment is preserved and protected.
  • Inspect cable tray, conduit, busway, and sleeve installations.
  • Check cable types, sizes, identification, termination, bending radius, and routing.
  • Verify installation of distribution equipment, panels, disconnects, receptables, lighting, grounding and bonding systems.
  • Confirm installation tolerances and alignment before work is concealed.
  • Review test procedures, test equipment calibration, and technician qualifications.
  • Verify continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, and phase rotation.
  • Witness grounding and bonding tests.
  • Review torque records for electrical terminations.
  • Review and ensure test results meet specified acceptance criteria.
  • Verify systems are complete and ready for pre-functional and functional testing.
  • Support integrated systems testing and commissioning of electrical systems.

Nonconformance and corrective action

  • Identify, document, and control nonconforming work.
  • Investigate root causes, review proposed corrective actions and confirm closure with objective evidence.

Coordination and Communication

  • Coordinate inspections with construction, engineering, inspectors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Communicate quality risks and required actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality expectations to supervisors and tradespeople.
  • Coordinate inspection access and work sequence to avoid rework.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and quality briefings for high-risk or critical conditions.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of field experience within QAQC and electrical construction environments.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, commissioning, and quality management processes.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in active site environments.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and QA/QC documentation systems.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering technology, QA/QC, or a related discipline; trade experience is an asset.
