Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Calgary, Alberta
$105,000–$140,000 base salary + bonus, benefits and potential vehicle allowance
There's a difference between managing project paperwork and actually owning a construction project.
Blackridge Search Group is interested in connecting with experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers in the Calgary construction market who know how to take responsibility for the commercial, operational and relationship sides of a build.
We are particularly interested in professionals with general contracting experience across commercial, institutional, industrial, mixed-use, multi-residential or other complex building construction.
What we're looking for
Strong candidates will typically bring experience with:
- Managing commercial construction projects from award through turnover
- Project budgeting, forecasting and cost control
- Subcontractor procurement and contract management
- Change orders and change management
- RFIs, submittals and project documentation
- Schedule development and progress tracking
- Consultant, owner and subcontractor coordination
- Project meetings and client communication
- Identifying and managing commercial and schedule risk
- Supporting procurement and long-lead planning
- Working closely with Site Superintendents and field teams
- Managing deficiencies, closeout and turnover
Experience delivering projects in the $10M–$100M+ range is particularly attractive, although project complexity and your actual level of responsibility matter more than a specific dollar value.
Who we're interested in meeting
You may already be a Senior Project Manager.
Or you may be a strong Project Manager who has reached the point where you're ready for larger projects, greater autonomy or a clearer path into senior leadership.
We're especially interested in understanding:
- What projects you've personally delivered
- Project size and complexity
- Your responsibility for budgets and forecasting
- How much client-facing responsibility you hold
- Your experience managing subcontractors and contracts
- The size of project teams you've led
- What would genuinely make your next opportunity worth considering
You don't need to be actively job searching
Some of the strongest construction professionals we work with aren't.
Blackridge Search Group works confidentially with contractors, developers and construction organizations across Canada.
Our first conversation is about understanding your experience, what you've built, what kind of organization you work best in and what would have to change for you to consider a move.
Your résumé will not be presented to an employer without discussing the specific opportunity with you first.
Compensation
Expected base salary: $105,000–$140,000 annually, depending on experience, project history and scope of responsibility.
Depending on the employer and opportunity, total compensation may also include:
- Performance bonus
- Benefits
- RRSP or retirement contributions
- Vehicle or vehicle allowance
- Cell phone allowance
- Additional incentives
Location
Calgary, Alberta
Candidates currently located elsewhere in Alberta or Western Canada who would consider relocating to Calgary are also encouraged to apply.
