We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our client located in Surrey, BC. They are a reputable and busy medium-sized OEM company. You will be reporting to the Manufacturing Shop Manager. This is a contract to hire with the intent of you going on permanently.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery to produce precision parts and components. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of machining processes, and the ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment. As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products.
You will start on a day shift which is Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm. There is also a 4x10 afternoon shift which you may be required to cover down the line.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines, milling machines, and other machining equipment.
  • Programming on Mastercam
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Perform machining operations such as milling, turning, drilling, and grinding to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools for assembly and finishing tasks.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot issues with machinery and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Skills
  • At least 5 years as a CNC Machinist
  • At least 3 years of experience as a CNC Programmer on Mastercam
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and welding is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, TOSNUC and Okuma controls is an asset.
  • Ability to operate forklifts considered an asset (certification preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Familiarity in operating Overhead/Jib Cranes an asset
