New Britain screw machine operator

We are seeking an experienced New Britain screw machine operator to set up, operate, and maintain multi-spindle screw machines for high-volume production of precision metal parts. The ideal candidate can work independently, read prints, hold tight tolerances, and maintain consistent quality and output.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor New Britain multi-spindle screw machines

• Load bar stock and adjust feeds, speeds, cams, and tooling

• Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and specifications

• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.

• Make tooling offsets and adjustments to maintain tolerances

• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues

• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean

• Meet production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards

• Work with supervisors and quality team to resolve non-conformances

Requirements

• Proven experience operating New Britain screw machines

• Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials

• Ability to read blueprints and hold close tolerances

• Experience with measuring and inspection tools

• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Dependable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Setup experience (not just operator)

• Experience with high-volume production environments

• Secondary operations experience (drilling, tapping, deburring)

• Basic maintenance or tooling change experience
