Social Media Specialist

Regular Full-time

Duties: Reporting to the Director - Marketing, Communications and Donor Relations, the Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing our social media strategy to enhance our brand awareness, increase engagement, and drive traffic to our digital platforms. This role works closely with other departments, particularly regional campuses, to coordinate social media posts. As well, this role requires creativity, excellent writing skills, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of various social media platforms.

Qualifications: A successful candidate will possess a post-secondary diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of experience managing social media communities and supporting strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals. The ideal applicant is a creative, self-motivated professional with strong customer service, writing, editing, and proofreading skills, and experience creating engaging web and social media content. They will have a solid understanding of social media analytics, current digital marketing tools and techniques, and demonstrated experience developing communication or marketing plans. Candidates must be highly organized, able to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines, comfortable both behind and in front of a camera, and experienced in basic photo and video production. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, while experience with Adobe Photoshop or CSS is considered an asset.

Salary: Position #193

CUPE Pay Level 5 with a starting wage of $50,468.60 per year with increments progressing to Step 5 as per the CUPE Collective Agreement. The College also offers a comprehensive range of benefits including defined pension, generous vacation entitlements, health and dental plans, and more.
