Description

Our client, an established cutting-tool manufacturer, is seeking a hands-on Red Seal Millwright to maintain and repair production machinery and plant equipment.

The company designs and manufactures saw blades, CNC tooling, insert tooling, router bits and custom cutting tools for wood, plastics, composites and non-ferrous metals.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will perform mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repairs, installations and preventive maintenance to support safe, reliable production.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment, including electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Read and interpret diagrams, drawings and technical documentation.
• Install, align and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment, including pumps, fans, sensors and motors.
• Clean, lubricate and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Complete coolant quality checks, check valve monitoring and scheduled water changes.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and identify required repairs and replacement parts.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and document completed repairs and outstanding deficiencies.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and communicate equipment issues to the Maintenance Manager.
• Support machinery installations, equipment upgrades and maintenance projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
• Follow safe work procedures when maintaining and repairing machinery.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification in a related trade.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong mechanical maintenance background within assembly-line, tool-shop or machine-shop environments.
• Knowledge of CNC machinery and equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic and electromechanical systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings, diagrams and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the maintenance team.
• Commitment to preventive maintenance, quality and safety.
• Knowledge of PLC controls is an asset.
