Line Operator ---Afternoon Shift

Position Summary

The Line Operator is responsible for properly operating the lavash and pita mixers and production lines to produce quality products. They work under the discretion of the Line Operator Trainer and/or Production Supervisor.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust equipment for optimal effectiveness and operate machinery safely.
• Follow recipes according to the method provided.
• Adjust water levels depending upon the level of production.
• Clean areas as you work and at the end of each shift.
• Accurately record data such as lot numbers and recipes.
• Report any problems to the shift supervisor on a timely basis.
• Ensure quality of pitas and lavash (e.g., color, size, shape, etc.).
• Check products for defects and perform corrective machine adjustments as necessary.
• Ensure ingredients are used in a FIFO (First In, First Out) system.
• Operate the line within the operating parameters provided.
• Document corrective actions taken for out-of-control processes.
• Verify production quality with the Team Lead.
• Ensure that GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) are practiced and abide by WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) practices.
• Follow the color coding system to prevent cross-contamination.
• Label ingredient containers properly with descriptions and lot codes.
• Always work safely, keep the work area clean and tidy, wear proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), ensure the product meets proper quality food safety standards, and work according to GMP rules.
• Must be trained on food allergens.
• Any other duties as assigned.
