Equipment Operator - Field Operations (Full-Time)

About the Position

Invictus Northwest Group is looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined and hands-on individual to join our field operations team full-time.

We're looking for someone with a good understanding of vehicles, tools and equipment who enjoys working outdoors, solving practical problems and getting the job done.

This is primarily a hands-on field position. You'll work alongside our crews across various service divisions, assist with equipment operation and maintenance, and occasionally take on additional coordination or supervisory responsibilities during winter operations. We're looking for someone who can lead by example while remaining an active part of the crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in daily field operations, including asphalt, concrete, property maintenance and seasonal services.
• Operate company vehicles, machinery and equipment.
• Perform basic equipment inspections, maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Assist with equipment preparation, loading and organization.
• Support snow and ice management operations during winter.
• Occasionally coordinate field activities and provide guidance to crew members.
• Identify and communicate operational or equipment issues.
• Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
• Assist with general labour and other field tasks as required.

Requirements

• Valid driver's licence; Class 3 strongly preferred, or relevant heavy-vehicle driving qualifications.
• Mechanically inclined, with a good practical understanding of tools, vehicles and machinery.
• Previous experience in a hands-on field environment.
• Physically capable and willing to perform demanding outdoor work.
• Reliable, responsible and comfortable working independently.
• Good communication skills and ability to take initiative.
• Availability for early mornings, overnight shifts and changing schedules during winter weather events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift operating experience or certification.
• Skid-steer operating experience.
• Experience with commercial vehicles or heavy equipment.
• Basic mechanical, hydraulic or electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Previous snow removal or property maintenance experience.
• Experience guiding or coordinating small field crews.

Who We're Looking For

A practical problem-solver with a strong work ethic and a good understanding of equipment. Someone equally comfortable operating machinery, assisting with general fieldwork, troubleshooting a mechanical issue or stepping up to help guide the crew when needed. You don't need to be a certified mechanic or a full-time supervisor.

Compensation: $30/Hr
Work Environment: Primarily outdoor field operations, with seasonal winter shifts.
