General Labourer

Position: General Labourer

Dayshift: Monday to Friday 7am to 3:15pm Monday to Friday

Location: Mccowan/Sheppard (Scarborough, ON)

Payrate: $22.00 per hour

CONTRACT FOR 3 MONTHS

Our client is a manufacturer of PCB's that support the military industry. They are looking for a temporary Facilities General Labourer, that would be responsible for non-complex jobs to maintain or repair building, fixtures, or equipment. Operates a truck to deliver or pick up cargo within a local area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Disassemble and strip obsolete machines for recovery of scrap metals.
• Maintain the operating condition of the facility by making simple repairs.
• Assist in unloading trucks.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Issue stock to production departments.
• Prepare scrap shipments.
• Drive the company vehicles to various destinations.
• Transporting materials to and from the storage facility.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to use basic hand tools, such as screwdrivers, band cutters, wrenches, and other common tools.
• Able to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds without straining.
• Ability to stand throughout the shift.
• Hold a valid province-issued driver's license.
• Good DMV driving record.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds without straining.

Must clear a criminal background check

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Forklift Certificate would be an asset.
