Working closely with Operations, Equipment Planning, Procurement, and Safety, you will ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable, cost-effective, and ready to support operational success. This position is based in the West Kootenays, British Columbia. Relocation assistance may be available for the successful candidate who is required to move to the area.

Compensation & Schedule
$110,000 per year (negotiable)
Compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the requirements of the role.
Responsibilities
- Lead Fleet Maintenance Operations across multiple business units and locations, providing leadership, coaching, and support to maintenance teams.
- Drive a Strong Safety Culture by promoting accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.
- Manage Preventative & Predictive Maintenance Programs to maximize fleet availability and minimize equipment downtime.
- Improve Fleet Reliability and Asset Performance by enhancing equipment uptime, lifecycle management, and overall operational efficiency.
- Analyze Maintenance Data and KPIs to identify trends, support decision-making, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate Maintenance Planning and Scheduling to ensure equipment availability aligns with operational and business requirements.
- Develop and Optimize Maintenance Systems including processes, reporting tools, performance metrics, and maintenance tracking programs.
- Manage Vendor and Contractor Relationships with dealerships, suppliers, repair facilities, and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective support.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance and Financial Stewardship by maintaining compliance with policies and regulations while managing maintenance budgets and cost-control initiatives.
- Support Safe and Efficient Operations through hazard awareness, risk mitigation, and proactive protection of employees, equipment, and communities.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of progressive fleet, transportation, or heavy equipment maintenance experience, including 3-5 years of maintenance leadership experience.
- Strong expertise in preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and fleet performance optimization.
- Proven experience managing heavy-duty truck fleets, trailers, and mobile equipment, with the ability to analyze maintenance KPIs, cost trends, and operational data.
- Solid knowledge of transportation regulations, commercial vehicle requirements, occupational health & safety standards, and regulatory compliance, with a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and willingness to travel.
- Preferred qualifications include a Journeyperson trade certification, post-secondary education in a related field, and experience in forestry, bulk transportation, multi-site maintenance operations, project management, and capital planning.
