Description

As an Echo Technologist, you will play a key role in cardiac diagnosis by performing detailed echocardiograms that help physicians detect and treat heart conditions. Using advanced ultrasound technology, you will capture and document cardiac images, monitor patients during procedures, and collaborate with cardiologists and other members of the team to support accurate and timely diagnoses.

This role combines technical skills, clinical insight, and compassionate patient care. You will ensure equipment functions properly, maintain accurate medical records, follow safety and infection control protocols, and provide clear explanations and reassurance to patients and families during their patient experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography, cardiovascular technology, or a related field
  • Advanced certification such as Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Associate's degree in diagnostic medical sonography, cardiovascular technology, or a related field
  • Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Several years of experience in a cardiac imaging setting
  • Experience working with a diverse patient population
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with advanced echocardiography techniques like stress echocardiography or transesophageal echocardiograms
  • Proficiency in the use of ultrasound equipment and related technology
  • Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and assist patients as needed
