Securiguard is currently accepting applications to join our team of Airside Safety Escorts at Vancouver International Airport. Seasonal opportunities will begin in March 2027 and run through October 2027.

The Airside Safety Escort Program is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all persons airside and within the Terminal, while maintaining strict compliance with Aviation Security protocols. Due to the extensive training and clearance requirements for these roles, interviews will begin over the coming months.

Explore a future with Securiguard-Vancouver Airport's longest-serving security contractor. We have supported YVR since 1997, growing alongside the airport for more than two decades and expanding our 24-hour security services to meet the needs of this complex and dynamic environment.

At our Airport Branch, no two days are the same. Our collaborative team works together to ensure YVR's global travellers, partners, and staff feel safe and supported every day.

Duties Include:

  • Escorting individuals into the Restricted Area of the airport
  • Verifying documents of entitlement
  • Notifying the Airside Safety Officer (ASO) and Terminal Duty Officer (TDO) upon entering and exiting the airfield
  • Reporting any safety and/or security incidents to the ASO, regardless of severity
  • Maintaining continuous visual contact with escorted individuals
  • Ensuring all vehicles entering the Restricted Area have valid Vehicle Permits and/or Temporary Vehicle Permits

Requirements:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in security, construction, or operations is an asset
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Availability to work all shifts-days, evenings, overnights (graveyards), weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work 8-12 hour shifts, based on client requirements
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
  • Clean Driver's Abstract
  • Valid BC Security Worker License

Clearance Requirements (AVOP & RAIC) & Training

Candidates must obtain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC), which requires a comprehensive background check covering the past five years of Canadian history. Because processing times can vary, this step will begin immediately upon selection.

Additionally, successful candidates will be required to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP), including both a written exam and a practical driving assessment.

Training will also include Aviation Security coursework, and all participants will receive AVSEC certification upon successful completion.
