About Us:

DataStealth is a data security platform (DSP) that discovers, classifies, and protects sensitive data across any environment, from legacy systems on-premise to cloud or cloud native.. Wherever your data lives or flows, we protect it using our own patented software. We do this without requiring complex integrations or changes to your existing applications, ensuring security that enables, rather than hinders, your business. By seamlessly applying data protection strategies, such as tokenization, we ensure that even if your perimeter is breached, your data remains unusable if it falls into the wrong hands.

Recognized for the fifth consecutive year as a Great Place to Work, we are one of the world's leading and fastest growing cybersecurity software companies. Our team is the best in the business. Our patented technology provides our large enterprise customers with the ability to solve complex data security problems with a paradigm shifting technology that can actually solve problems.

About You:

You're a proactive, detail-oriented problem solver who enjoys hands-on work and challenges the status quo. You have a natural curiosity that drives you to explore and learn new technologies, apply them to solve complex integration problems, and document your process for future learning. While you may not know everything right now, you have the intelligence and drive to quickly pick things up and apply them effectively.
Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer, Customer Delivery to join our team and play a key role in deploying and integrating DataStealth solutions within customer environments. In this role, you will work directly with clients and project teams to implement advanced security features such as tokenization, encryption, and monitoring, while ensuring seamless system connectivity and performance. You'll troubleshoot complex networking and integration challenges, contribute fresh ideas, and document processes to support continuous improvement. This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in Linux, networking, and system integration, and who thrives in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.
Why This Role Matters:This role lies at the core of our customer success by driving the delivery and integration of DataStealth solutions directly into customer environments—whether deployed via a managed/hosted model or installed and configured on-site. Solutions can be deployed in two modes: as a professional services project leveraging a batch-based approach to data classification and protection, or as an in-line proxy with custom protocol and payload support configured. This versatile operational landscape draws upon a wide range of skills and past experiences, offering a dynamic environment where engineering expertise directly impacts client security and business enablement.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and operate DataStealth solutions in customer environments.
  • Collaborate with project teams throughout the entire solution life cycle.
  • Troubleshoot and help solve connectivity, firewall, remote access, and access control issues.
  • Use AI tools to work faster and smarter across scripting, troubleshooting, research, and documentation
  • Support the project team in customer facing meetings regarding project status, timelines, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Support the sales team as needed with technical expertise during demos, proof-of-concepts, and customer evaluations.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in roles such as Solutions/Integration Engineer, Security Engineer, or Network Engineer, ideally in customer-facing environments.
  • Solid experience with scripting languages. Groovy is used in our configuration and rule engine.
  • Strong background in Linux administration and system integration.
  • A firm understanding of "How the Internet works": IP, TCP vs UDP, Routing, NAT, Routing Protocols, DNS
  • Flexibility to work weekends and after hours for critical customer deployments and urgent troubleshooting, including being on-call for escalation alerts.
  • Strong AI skills:
    • The judgment to iterate with AI on real integration and connectivity problems, treating AI as a force-multiplier rather than a better search engine.
    • Sound judgment using AI responsibly with sensitive data.
  • Experience solving complex data governance, data risk, data security and data residency problems for Enterprise customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address customers' needs effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Expertise:

  • Experience with cybersecurity practices like tokenization, encryption, tamper protection, and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with PCI, GDPR, HIPAA, SOC, ISO 27001, CIS compliance standards or security/privacy regulations.
  • The more experience the better:
    • Integration protocols like HTTPS, SMTPS, SSH/SFTP, FTPS, and REST APIs
    • Structured data payloads such as JSON, XML, YAML, ORC, PARQUET
    • Database systems for operating batched data protection, such as MS-SQL, Oracle, Postgres, DB/2, MySQL/MariaDb
    • Cloud service providers: AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience configuring Linux infrastructure, including firewall rules (nftables/firewalld/iptables) and web/reverse-proxy servers (Nginx/Apache), with the ability to apply those configuration skills to delivery operations and service deployments.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting and resolving issues with SSH, firewall configurations, remote access, and endpoint connectivity.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Linux+ are a bonus but not required.
  • Experience building internal tooling, scripts, or automations with AI assistance to improve delivery and deployment workflows.
  • Experience with supporting customers through complex deployments with AWS, Azure, Docker, Linux, etc.
  • Experience with Data Discovery tools and best practices for scanning and identifying sensitive data
  • Familiarity with agentic AI systems (LLM tool use, function calling, multi-step workflows)
