THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager to join a well-established organization in Peterborough, Ontario. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily plant operations, production, logistics, and maintenance while leading a team and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing or plant management background, a hands-on leadership style, and the ability to work directly with employees on the floor while also managing operational performance and administrative responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule plant staff and daily operations
- Lead a team of approximately 20 employees
- Oversee production, processing, logistics, and maintenance activities
- Monitor and improve productivity, efficiency, and overall plant performance
- Track and analyze production and operational KPIs
- Monitor material flow, quality, and production targets
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and operational
- Complete and review daily production, inspection, audit, and equipment reports
- Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions and process improvements
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
- Ensure employees are properly trained and equipped with required PPE
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized plant environment
- Support staffing, scheduling, training, and employee development
REQUIREMENTS
- 3–5 years of experience managing a manufacturing or plant environment
- Strong plant-based/manufacturing background
- Previous experience supervising and managing
- Strong understanding of plant operations, production, KPIs, and maintenance
- Proven ability to drive results and meet operational targets
- Strong people-management and communication skills
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work directly with employees on the floor
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experience creating and maintaining a strong safety culture
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Experience with CMMS or maintenance management software is an asset
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work fully onsite in Peterborough
