Technical Sales Support Specialist
The Sales & Technical Support role supports the commercial and operational activities of Signature Aluminum Canada Ltd. and Signature Precision Fabrication Ltd. (the Signature Group). Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Administration, this position supports the customer lifecycle from quoting and order entry through production coordination and customer follow-up. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate customer and order information, supporting business development, coordinating internal requirements, and assisting with procurement, documentation, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Management
- Support sales activities including quoting, negotiation, customer follow-up, and business development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Prepare accurate quotations and pricing for fabrication, extrusion, and raw materials.
- Identify opportunities to expand the customer base and support business growth.
- Enter and manage customer sales orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer requirements.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates on quotations, orders, production, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor order progress and proactively address customer concerns.
Technical & Production Support
- Coordinate with Engineering and Production to ensure orders are complete and production-ready.
- Support fabrication process development, APQP, product realization, and production handoff activities.
- Assist with new product and process development, including capital approval requests where required.
- Help resolve issues affecting production, quality, delivery, or customer requirements.
Procurement & Administration
- Generate Purchase Orders for materials, shop supplies, office requirements, and other operational needs.
- Maintain accurate internal documentation, including SOPs, part files, pricing sheets, and related records.
- Support document control, revision tracking, and general administrative activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate effectively with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Administration to ensure alignment on customer requirements and priorities.
- Participate in meetings, problem-solving activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, efficiency, and customer service.
- Support departmental projects and other organizational initiatives as required.
Qualifications & Competencies
- 2–5 years of experience in technical support, sales engineering, inside sales, pre-sales, customer service, or a related technical/commercial role.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation.
- Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel would be required.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Customer-focused with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Manufacturing, fabrication, extrusion, or industrial experience is an asset.
- A valid driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle are required for very occasional travel between company plants and to attend business meetings or training sessions.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with occasional time on the shop floor to coordinate with Production and Engineering.
- Occasional lifting of light materials, documents, or sample parts, typically under 15 lbs.
- Fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Standard business hours with occasional extended hours or overtime based on business requirements.
