Safe Launch Quality Inspector – Automotive / Metal Manufacturing Location:Concord, ON
Pay: $19.00–$23.00/hour
Job Type: Full Time Shift: Afternoon Shift – Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
Overtime: Expected based on business needs; weekends as required
About the Role We are hiring a Safe Launch Quality Inspector to join York Metal Products, a leading manufacturer of complex metal fabricated components. This is a hands-on inspection role focused on ensuring prototype and production parts meet quality standards through 100% inspection, dimensional checks, and visual inspection. Candidates with experience in automotive or metal manufacturing, particularly with stainless steel components, are preferred. Experience with GD&T drawings, inspection gauges, and laser weld quality is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Perform 100% inspection and final quality checks on finished and prototype parts
  • Inspect stainless steel components for dimensions, forming, profiles, and surface quality
  • Perform visual inspections for scratches, burrs, cracks, and other defects
  • Inspect laser-cut components and check laser weld quality
  • Use gauges, fixtures, and vision inspection equipment to verify part quality
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to check critical dimensions
  • Place parts on inspection gauges and verify them against specifications
  • Read and interpret GD&T drawings, blueprints, and inspection requirements
  • Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming parts
  • Maintain inspection records and report quality issues promptly
  • Support Safe Launch activities and the PPAP process as required
Requirements
  • Previous Quality Inspector experience in automotive, metal fabrication, or advanced manufacturing preferred
  • Experience with finished-part inspection, final inspection, or prototype parts
  • Stainless steel inspection experience is an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T drawings and blueprints
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards preferred
  • Experience using gauges, fixtures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
  • Understanding of dimensional inspection, forming, profiles, surface quality, and weld quality
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain accurate inspection records

Ideal backgrounds: Automotive Quality Inspector, Metal Fabrication Quality Inspector, Manufacturing Quality Inspector, Final Inspector, or Dimensional Inspector.
