Commercial Tire Technician Trainee

Scotia Tire & Alignment Services Ltd. – Mississauga, ON
Full-Time | Approximately 45 Hours per Week

Scotia Tire is looking for a reliable, hardworking Tire Technician Trainee who wants to build a career in the commercial tire industry.

No previous commercial tire experience is required. We will provide hands-on training, industry certifications and the opportunity to develop into a fully qualified Commercial Tire Technician.

Working alongside experienced technicians, you will learn how to:

• Install, remove, rotate, balance and repair commercial tires.

• Service commercial trucks, trailers and fleet vehicles.

• Assist with roadside and customer-site tire service.

• Complete fleet inspections and tire maintenance checks.

• Safely operate commercial tire service tools and equipment.

• Complete work orders, service documentation and required photographs.

• Maintain service trucks, equipment and work areas in a clean and organized condition.

• Assist with tire and wheel inventory, loading and receiving.

• Communicate professionally with customers, Dispatch, Service Advisors and Sales Representatives.

• Follow Scotia Tire safety procedures and customer site requirements.

As your training and experience progress, you will also be trained to participate in commercial roadside service and Scotia Tire's shared after-hours/on-call rotation.

• Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence with a satisfactory driver's abstract.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work with trucks and equipment.

• Dependable, punctual and willing to learn.

• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Previous automotive, tire, mechanical, warehouse or fleet experience is an asset, but not required.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding position.

Candidates must be able to:

• Regularly lift and handle approximately 80–100 lbs.

• Bend, kneel and crouch for extended periods.

• Work around commercial trucks and heavy equipment.

• Safely perform physical work in shop, fleet-yard and roadside environments.
