Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Position: Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm

About the Position

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Mechanical & Electrical Assembler to join a manufacturing team in Markham specializing in automated door systems.

The successful candidate will assist with the mechanical and electrical assembly of automated door systems and components. This is a hands-on position that requires comfort working with hand and power tools, following instructions, moving materials, and performing a variety of assembly and warehouse duties.

Mechanical or electrical assembly experience is an asset, but candidates with strong hands-on experience and the ability to learn are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assemble automated door systems, components, frames, and sub-assemblies
• Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools
• Install brackets, hardware, motors, sensors, tracks, rollers, and other components
• Perform basic electrical assembly and wiring of components
• Connect wires, electrical components, sensors, motors, and related equipment according to instructions
• Read and follow mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, assembly instructions, and work orders
• Measure, drill, cut, fasten, and fit components as required
• Use common hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Inspect assembled components for quality, proper fit, and functionality
• Assist with testing and troubleshooting assembled door systems
• Prepare materials and components for assembly
• Pick and organize parts required for production
• Receive, move, and organize materials within the warehouse
• Load and unload materials and finished products
• Package, label, and prepare completed products for shipment
• Maintain an organized and clean work area
• Follow workplace safety procedures and proper lifting techniques
• Assist with general warehouse and production duties as required
• Work as part of a team to meet production schedules and deadlines

Qualifications

• Previous experience in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, manufacturing, construction, or warehouse work is an asset
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to read mechanical drawings or electrical diagrams is an asset
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials and components
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience with automated doors, commercial doors, machinery, electrical systems, or similar equipment is an asset

Physical Requirements

• Heavy lifting is required
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling of materials
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
