The successful candidate will serve as a trusted marketing advisor to franchisees, proactively reviewing local performance, recommending practical opportunities, and executing initiatives that support store-level goals while maintaining brand consistency. As a senior contributor within a small but mighty marketing team, this person will also help advance the department by identifying new ideas, improving programs and processes, and contributing to broader marketing planning and innovation.

  • Build engaged, trusting, and mutually beneficial relationships with franchisees and store teams
  • Coach franchisees with varying levels of marketing knowledge and encourage participation in appropriate local marketing activities and programs
  • Provide informed guidance across digital and conventional marketing channels, drawing on internal specialists when deeper channel expertise is required
  • Support franchisees with local marketing requests, store opening strategies, campaign planning, proposal evaluation, and the assessment of results
  • Identify successful local practices and opportunities that can be shared or adapted across the franchise network

Local Marketing Execution

  • Prioritize and fulfill franchisee and store marketing requests from initial consultation through execution and follow-up
  • Recommend, develop, execute, analyze, and optimize email marketing campaigns that support franchisee sales and marketing objectives
  • Develop or adapt creative materials for local initiatives, including email marketing, social media, digital campaigns, traditional advertising, events, and other local placements
  • Coordinate local campaign requirements with internal marketing specialists, external suppliers, and franchisees as appropriate
  • Review local marketing/advertising proposals and provide clear recommendations based on audience, cost, brand fit, and expected value
  • Ensure all local marketing activities and materials align with approved strategies, brand standards, franchise requirements, and applicable policies
  • Maintain organized records of franchisee requests, recommendations, campaign activity, follow-up actions, and results
  • Coordinate and support the brand's participation in selected national and international trade shows, including occasional travel within Canada and the United States

Marketing Strategy & Advancement

  • Contribute ideas and recommendations that strengthen local marketing support, franchisee engagement, and overall marketing effectiveness
  • Identify, research, and help pilot new local marketing programs, channels, tools, technologies, and processes
  • Use campaign data, franchisee feedback, and network trends to identify broader opportunities and recommend improvements
  • Work collaboratively with internal specialists to connect channel activity to franchisee goals
  • Help develop scalable resources, playbooks, campaigns, and best practices that can be used across the network
  • Contribute to annual and longer-term marketing planning, special projects, and department priorities
  • Monitor developments and best practices in franchise marketing, multi-location marketing, B2B marketing, local media, AI, and marketing technology

Qualifications:

  • University or college degree/diploma in marketing, business, communications, or a related field
  • Five or more years of progressive marketing experience, preferably in a franchise, multi-unit, B2B, retail, or distributed network environment
  • Broad working knowledge of digital and traditional marketing, including paid media, SEO, email marketing, social media, local advertising, events, sponsorships, and marketing analytics
  • Proven ability to interpret campaign performance, identify opportunities, and communicate recommendations clearly to non-marketing audiences
  • Experience advising, coaching, or influencing business owners, operators, clients, or other independent stakeholders (including those with varying marketing knowledge)
  • Demonstrated ability to independently generate ideas, build practical plans, and move initiatives from concept through execution
Hands-on experience developing email campaigns and local marketing materials; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools is an asset

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Copilot applications
  • Experience working within a franchise system or supporting a large multi-location network is a strong asset
