Welding & Fabrication Supervisor

We are seeking a Welding and Fabrication production supervisor who is wanting to make the next big step in their career.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: up to $100,000 plus Overtime if available

Once in the role, successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress through the range and beyond the hiring range through annual increases

Key Job Elements:

• Plan, schedule, assign and prioritize tasks/assignments to achieve the performance of all work and contract requirements
• Monitor assigned work activities to ensure implementation dates are met.
• Execute production schedules while meeting quality, delivery and productivity targets.
• Provide accurate daily/weekly/monthly status updates on all work activities within the team
• Manage key cost elements e.g. overtime, departmental expenses, HPU's, MPS
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
• Lead WSBM team meetings and actively identify and implement process improvements
• Use effective coaching techniques to train and develop leadership and technical capabilities of the team
• Ensures compliance of Unifor Contract requirements
• Maintains compliance with: GDLS policies, Trade Compliance (ITAR), ISO procedures Security and Safety regulations and Industrial Training requirements.
• Maintain favorable working relationships with internal and external customers
• Ability to work a swing shift operation (3 shifts)

Required Qualifications:

• College Diploma
• 5-7 years related experience
• Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience with production planning and execution
• Goal oriented and able to work under demanding conditions
• Demonstrated communication, organizational, problem solving and decision making skills
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a Unifor/ Union Manufacturing environment
• College Diploma in a technical field, or welding/weld inspection accreditation
• Previous supervisory experience
• Knowledge of Laser/Fabrication/Welding
• Machining in the preferred experience.
