WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

The Agronomy Summer Student works alongside our Ultimate Yield Agronomy Team to support growers through the busiest part of the growing season. You'll spend much of your time in the field scouting crops and collecting samples, helping our agronomists deliver timely, accurate recommendations. It's a great opportunity for students who want practical, hands-on agronomy experience and a closer look at a career in agriculture.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN & IMPACT

Customer Support - Assist with customer management, making sure growers receive accurate information and timely, friendly service.

Crop Scouting - Scout fields to monitor crop development, pests, and disease, and report findings back to the agronomy team.

Tissue & Soil Sampling - Collect tissue and soil samples accurately and on schedule to support in-season and long-term agronomic recommendations.

Safety & Work Orders - Follow all safety protocols, read and complete work orders accurately, and document activities where required.

Team Collaboration - Work closely with the Business Agronomy Team and pitch in wherever needed during the season, including other duties as assigned.

Core Competencies

Organized with good time management skills
Able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
Willing to work overtime and irregular hours during the growing season

Communication Expertise

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Friendly, approachable, and comfortable working with growers and teammates

Technical & Industry Knowledge

ATV/quad operation experience is preferred
Farming background and/or crop scouting experience is considered an asset
One or more years of study toward a diploma or bachelor's degree, preferably in agriculture, is considered an asset

Requirements

Valid Class 5 driver's licence and a safe driving record
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Must live in or close to Swift Current, SK
