WE'RE HIRING – GAS TECHNICIAN, ROAD SERVICE (G2)
$32–$40/hr | Guaranteed 42.5 hrs/week + overtime | Ottawa, ON | Full-time, permanent
Canadian-owned equipment rental company with over 70 years in business. Winter is their busiest season and they need a licensed gas technician for on-site service of construction heating equipment.
What you'll be doing:
- Driving to customer sites to diagnose and repair natural gas, propane, diesel and electric-fired construction heaters
- Performing all gas-related inspections, testing and repairs in compliance with Ontario gas codes and TSSA regulations
- Making sure every unit on a customer site is safe, compliant and running
- Working from checklists, owner's manuals and schematics
- Guiding shop service technicians on required repairs
- Explaining equipment features and safe operation to customers on site
- Keeping service paperwork and inventory records accurate
What you need:
- Valid TSSA Ontario Certificate of Qualification — G2 required, G1 preferred
- 5–7 years' experience with electrical, heating, air conditioning, hydronics and oil systems, including repair and maintenance of construction heaters
- Valid G Class driver's licence with a clean abstract
- Able to lift and load/unload 50 lbs regularly
- Strong mechanical aptitude and general electrical understanding
- Comfortable working independently on the road
- High school diploma or equivalent
