Client: Government Services Integration Cluster

Location: Toronto ON Onsite

Pay rate: 60-65/hr incorp

Description

Responsibilities

  • Create effective, user friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Design the overall functionality of the product in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.
  • Design user interfaces for various projects such as digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required. Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate the designs.
  • Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes

Must Have:

  • Portfolio link must be on the resume - must be accessible without password or attached along with the resume*
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in participating in complex projects (products) of different sizes, ensuring alignment to plans, best practices and incorporating user-centred design processes and agile (scrum) methodologie
  • Must have Figma experience.
  • Expertise in UX software such as JustInMind, InVision, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure, and Zeplin. HTML5, CSS3, and JS skills (React, Angular, NodeJS), Azure DevOps are a plus.
  • Strong communication skills - lead meeting and present to stakeholders.
  • Prior experience with Service Design framework and established design systems.
  • OPS or Public experience
  • Knowledge of DABL (discovery, alpha, beta, Live)

General Skills

  • Relevant experience creating GUI designs based on user interaction and performance
  • Experience as a UX designer, interactive designer, UI designer, or similar role, designing for web and mobile applications
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools Thorough understanding of the limitations and appropriate use of web development technologies
  • Experience in designing online programs with emphasis in the emotional aspects of human experience
  • Experience conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
  • Experience designing the overall functionality of the product, and in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing
  • Experience designing and delivering wireframes, user stories, user flows, user journeys, mockups and prototypes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Experience facilitating the client's product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products and optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Experience identifying design problems and devising elegant solutions
  • Experience making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features
  • Experience gathering user feedback to configure existing interfaces A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines, managing competing priorities and client relationship management experience

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

User Experience Design 40%

  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in participating in complex projects (products) of different sizes, ensuring alignment to plans, best practices and incorporating user-centred design processes and agile (scrum) methodologies.
  • Degree or diploma in graphic design; degree or certification in usability, human-computer interaction, and technical writing a plus
  • Experience in facilitate User Research and Usability testing. Accessibility compliance testing is a plus.

· Experience in facilitate User Research and Usability testing activities to produce such outputs as:

  1. User Interview Topic Maps
  2. User Interview Scripts
  3. User Interview Synthesis (collection, aggregation and analysis) of written observations recorded during each interview
  4. User Research Findings Report

Relationship Management - 20%

  • Demonstrated experience in communication and mediation skills with business teams and core team members to ensure Client projects (products) are progressing according to schedule
  • Experience with strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects – Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live or similar delivery methodologies
  • Ability to deliver on a (project) product with a balanced team (product owner, user experience designers, developers) by participating in Agile (SCRUM) delivery methodologies

Technical Skills - 30%

Expertise in UX software such as JustInMind, InVision, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure, Figma, and Zeplin. HTML5, CSS3, and JS skills (React, Angular, NodeJS), are a plus.

Soft skills - 10%

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
