Bruce GM is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our Service Departments. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, with a focus on maximizing efficiency, profitability, and productivity while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will provide leadership and support to the service teams, ensuring a high standard of professionalism, workmanship, and customer care that builds lasting relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and motivate the Service Department teams in Middleton and Digby
- Oversee daily operations of the Service Department
- Ensure exceptional customer service and positive ownership satisfaction
- Ensure that repairs are completed accurately, efficiently and according to manufacturer standards
- Ensure compliance with GM policies, dealership procedures, and safety regulations
- Monitor warranty and internal repair processes
- Assist in hiring, training, and development of department employees
- Handle escalated customer concerns and resolve issues professionally
- Assist in the planning of departmental goals and targets.
- Ensure training for all employees and encourage technicians to keep their skills up to date through periodic technical training offered by manufacturers.
- Monitor employee performance, set goals and objectives, and support their growth.
- Effectively handle and implement change when needed.
- In cooperation with the dealership's management team, must review the previous month's sales/profit performance to determine where improvements can be made.
- Work with the Parts Department to maintain an efficient fixed operation.
- Minimum of 3 years of Automotive Service Management experience
- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver's License & clean Driver's Abstract
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair
- Understanding of service department financials, KPI, and profitability
- Advanced computer skills; PBS experience is considered an asset
- Strong Leadership Skills: Demonstrate ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Clear Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey ideas, information, and instructions clearly and concisely
- Organizing & Planning: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and execute tasks, projects, and resources effectively.
- Customer Enthusiasm: A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and a commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Effective Delegating & Empowering: Proven experience in assigning tasks, empowering team members, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
