Construction Scheduler

Salary: $110,000–$150,000 annually

Industra Construction Corp. is looking for a Construction Scheduler who has managed schedules for multiple active construction projects at the same time. We typically have 15–20 or more projects underway across Canada, and this new role will help our teams plan individual jobs while giving leadership a clear view of milestones, resource demands and schedule risks across the portfolio.

You will work with Estimating, Pre-Construction, Procurement, Project Managers and Superintendents from tender through project completion. You will build practical schedules, keep them current using input from the field, and help teams identify conflicts early enough to act.

This is an opportunity to establish scheduling practices that will grow with Industra. We need someone who is comfortable both working in the detail of a project schedule and bringing several project schedules together to support decisions across the business.

What you'll do

• Develop, baseline and maintain construction schedules for multiple projects running concurrently.
• Work with Estimating and Pre-Construction to prepare tender schedules, including sequencing, durations, milestones and key assumptions.
• Support handover to Operations so schedule commitments, procurement needs and risks are understood before work begins.
• Work directly with Project Managers and Superintendents to confirm construction sequences, site progress, upcoming work and changes to the plan.
• Integrate long-lead materials, equipment, subcontractors and other procurement requirements into project schedules.
• Track critical paths, forecast completion dates and identify delays, resource constraints and opportunities for recovery.
• Develop look-ahead schedules that help site teams plan labour, equipment, subcontractors and upcoming activities.
• Provide leadership with a clear view of milestones and potential conflicts between projects, including demands on shared resources.
• Lead regular schedule reviews and produce concise, useful reporting for project teams and leadership.
• Help establish consistent scheduling tools, reporting and practices across Industra.
  

What you bring

• At least 5 years of construction experience, including 3 years in construction scheduling or project controls.
• Demonstrated experience personally maintaining schedules for multiple active construction projects concurrently. This is essential for the role.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, critical-path scheduling, progress measurement, forecasting and schedule analysis.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• The ability to work closely with field and project teams to build schedules that reflect how the work will actually be delivered.
• A practical understanding of how labour, equipment, procurement, subcontractors and logistics affect project timelines.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to turn detailed schedule information into useful decisions for project teams and leadership.

Experience with heavy civil, industrial, infrastructure, water or wastewater construction is an asset. Experience with remote, northern or logistically challenging projects is also valuable. Relevant post-secondary education is an asset; equivalent experience will be considered.
