Job description:

GenMec ACL Inc. is seeking a Skilled Labourer to join our team in Cold Lake, Alberta. The Skilled Labourer is an intermediate-level construction worker who supports site operations with independence. This role requires solid knowledge of construction practices, the ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Job Type: Contract, with opportunity to move to continued employment

Expected hours: 10 hrs / day

Project duration: 2-3 months long

Role Responsibilities

Perform general labour duties with minimal supervision
Assist skilled tradespeople and equipment operators with a higher level of competency
Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively
Load, unload, and move construction materials and equipment
Assist with site preparation, grading, measuring, and basic layout tasks
Erect and dismantle scaffolding, barricades, and temporary structures
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times
Follow and enforce company and site-specific safety procedures
Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents promptly
Support material staging and organization to improve workflow efficiency
Assist in training and supporting Labourer I employees as required
Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings
Perform other duties as assigned to support project success

Role Requirements

2–4 years of experience in commercial or civil construction
Drivers license
Solid understanding of construction tools, materials, and methods
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Strong work ethic and reliability
Physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks, including lifting 50+ lbs
Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
Good understanding of workplace safety practices
