Are you an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist who can independently set up machines and take a job from drawing through to a finished precision part?
We are hiring a CNC Lathe Machinist / Setup Technician for a well-established precision manufacturing facility in Mississauga. This is a hands-on machining position for someone with strong CNC lathe setup experience who is comfortable working with tight tolerances and complex components.
This is not an operator-only position — you must have hands-on experience completing CNC lathe setups.

We are hiring a CNC Lathe Machinist / Setup Technician for a well-established precision manufacturing facility in Mississauga. This is a hands-on machining position for someone with strong CNC lathe setup experience who is comfortable working with tight tolerances and complex components.
This is not an operator-only position — you must have hands-on experience completing CNC lathe setups.
What You'll Be Doing
- Set up and operate CNC lathes for precision machining
- Complete machine changeovers and full setups independently
- Select and install appropriate tooling, inserts and workholding
- Establish and adjust tool and work offsets
- Load existing programs and make adjustments as required
- Perform first-off pieces and make necessary machining corrections
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints
- Work with GD&T and tight dimensional tolerances
- Adjust speeds, feeds and tooling to maintain quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling and quality issues
- Maintain consistent quality throughout production runs
- Previous experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist, CNC Lathe Setup Technician or CNC Setup Machinist
- Strong hands-on CNC lathe setup experience is required
- Experience with Fanuc and/or Mazak controls
- Ability to independently complete setups and prove out parts
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- Comfortable using micrometers, calipers, gauges and other precision inspection equipment
- Strong understanding of tooling, inserts, speeds, feeds and offsets
- Previous precision machining experience
- $28.00–$38.00/hr, based on experience
