Piano Instructor - Summit Music (Port Moody)

*Starting October 2026*

We are seeking one Piano Teacher to take on a growing list of students. The position will be part-time, evenings and weekends as needed.

- $45 - $55 per hour

Qualifications

- Valid driver's license

- Bachelors Degree in Music

- RCM Level 10 Piano or equivalent

- 3 to 5 Years of Teaching Experience required (Knowledge of Pedagogy Important)

- Must be legally able to work in Canada

- Fluent English, both spoken and written

- Willingness to obtain a police background check

- Ability to teach guitar or voice is an asset

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach students in their homes, around the Port Moody area. We will work closely with you to ensure you have a practical schedule, with minimal travel between the classes. Therefore, a valid drivers' license is essential. The teacher will be free to build up their schedule in a flexible way that suits their aspirations and commitments.

Good organization and communication skills are key so that you can arrange classes with the families. Punctuality and time management is also highly valued. We also host two recitals per year. The teacher is encouraged to prepare their students for these performances. Examinations are encouraged but not always mandatory for our students.
