Niveau d`entrée

The BI Analyst builds and maintains the data pipelines, models, reports and applied AI capability that PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team), a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan and Obayashi, relies on to understand program status. Power BI is the primary delivery platform, but the role works across the wider Microsoft data estate — Microsoft Fabric pipelines and lakehouses, Power Platform automation and apps, and the integrations that connect source systems such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BambooHR and geospatial platforms. The position delivers scheduled client and contractual reporting, keeps refreshes running without manual intervention, contributes to AI agent and Copilot work that lets stakeholders query program data directly, and works with business owners to translate requirements into working products. Delivery standards, platform capacity, licensing and workspace governance are set by the Manager, Data & Innovation; the BI Analyst builds to those standards and raises exceptions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Engineering and Pipeline Delivery

  • Build and maintain data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric to the standards and architecture set by the Manager, Data & Innovation
  • Ingest and archive raw data from source systems, including Autodesk Construction Cloud and BambooHR, into the Bronze layer as a permanent, auditable record
  • Develop transformation logic in the Silver layer to clean, standardize and link data from disparate systems into a unified operational view
  • Aggregate data into optimized, business-ready Gold layer datasets that serve as the reporting foundation
  • Monitor pipeline runs, investigate failures through to root cause, and correct data quality issues before they reach published reports
  • Document pipeline logic, data lineage and source dependencies so work remains supportable beyond any single analyst
  • Use governed connection patterns for pipeline connections, including service accounts and approved secret storage, rather than individual credentials

BI Development and Visualization

  • Design and build interactive Power BI dashboards that let a user understand project status at a glance
  • Develop semantic models, measures and KPI definitions consistent with the definitions agreed across the Data & Innovation team
  • Build and maintain dashboards tailored to client monthly reporting obligations, including the automation of contractual reports such as Schedule J and Schedule B
  • Maintain automated refresh schedules so leadership has current data without manual intervention, and resolve refresh failures promptly
  • Apply consistent visual standards, naming and layout conventions across published reports
  • Publish reports into the governed Power BI workspaces and follow the promotion path from development through to production
  • Retire and consolidate duplicate or superseded reports as part of routine dashboard inventory maintenance
  • Deliver output in the form that fits the requirement — Power BI as the primary platform, with paginated reports, structured data extracts, Power Apps or direct feeds to other systems where those serve the user better
  • Build integrations to and from other platforms, including geospatial systems, so program data reaches the tools stakeholders actually use

Applied AI and Emerging Capability

  • Prepare and maintain governed datasets so they can be consumed safely by Microsoft Copilot and AI agents, including table and measure descriptions, relationships and permission scope
  • Contribute to the build and testing of AI agents that let stakeholders query program data directly, including agents connected to Autodesk Construction Cloud and other source systems
  • Build Power Automate flows and Power Apps where an automated process or a purpose-built app answers the requirement better than a report
  • Test AI-generated output against source data and flag where results are unreliable before they are relied on
  • Prototype and evaluate new Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform and AI capability at the direction of the Manager, Data & Innovation

Data Quality and Governance

  • Validate published figures against source systems so teams make decisions from the same verified numbers
  • Apply workspace, dataset and row-level security settings so report sharing stays within the approved access model
  • Escalate data ownership questions and unresolved source system discrepancies to the Manager, Data & Innovation
  • Produce access and sharing evidence for the Power BI estate in support of the quarterly access review cycle coordinated by the Manager, Security & Compliance
  • Keep dataset and report documentation current, including refresh dependencies and owner of record

Stakeholder Engagement and Support

  • Work directly with business owners and subject matter experts across the program to gather reporting requirements and confirm that delivered reports answer the question asked
  • Attend stakeholder and leadership sessions to demonstrate reports, gather feedback and agree changes
  • Explain data and methodology to non-technical audiences so the numbers are understood and trusted
  • Provide second-line support for report and dashboard issues raised through the IT helpdesk ticket intake
  • Deliver short user guidance sessions on reading and using published dashboards
  • Coordinate with the SharePoint Administrator and Azure 365 Administrator on data sources, connections and access hosted in SharePoint and the Microsoft 365 tenant

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with visits to the Airport site as required. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday during regular office or site hours. At times, operational needs may require work outside these hours, with reasonable notice provided. All schedule or on‑call adjustments will comply with applicable employment standards legislation. It is mandatory for all employees to complete a Criminal Background check and successfully attain a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC) upon joining the company.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES

  • Two to four years of hands-on business intelligence or data analyst experience delivering production reporting
  • Demonstrated Power BI development experience covering semantic modelling, DAX measures, report design and scheduled refresh
  • Working experience with Microsoft Fabric or an equivalent lakehouse or data warehouse platform, including layered pipeline patterns
  • SQL proficiency for data transformation, validation and troubleshooting, with Power Query and DAX practical experience
  • Experience integrating data from line-of-business systems through APIs, connectors or scheduled extracts
  • Data quality discipline, including reconciliation of published figures against source systems
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to present data to non-technical stakeholders
  • Documentation discipline covering data lineage, measure definitions and report ownership kept current
  • Post-secondary education in information technology, data analytics, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Construction, engineering or major capital program experience preferred, with exposure to Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6 or Oracle data an asset
  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-300 or DP-600 preferred
  • Power Automate or Power Apps build experience, and exposure to ISO 27001 or SOC 2 control environments, considered an asset
  • Exposure to AI agent, Copilot or large language model tooling applied to business data, including preparing datasets for agent consumption, considered an asset
  • GIS or geospatial data experience, such as ArcGIS, Esri or site sensor and camera feeds, considered an asset
  • Data integration and API experience, including REST APIs, authentication patterns and handling of API keys and secrets, considered an asset

Key Deliverables

  • Bronze, Silver and Gold pipeline layers built and running on schedule for the assigned data domains
  • Published Power BI dashboards in the governed workspaces, refreshing on schedule without manual intervention
  • Client monthly reporting obligations, including Schedule J and Schedule B, produced from automated reports rather than manual assembly
  • Documented data lineage, measure definitions and refresh dependencies for every report the role owns
  • Reconciliation evidence showing published figures agree with source systems
  • Power BI access and sharing evidence available on request for the quarterly access review cycle
  • Report and dashboard requests routed and tracked consistently through the IT helpdesk ticket intake
  • Governed datasets prepared and documented so Copilot and AI agents return reliable answers within the approved permission scope
  • Working integrations between PACT data sources and the downstream platforms that consume them, built on governed connections rather than individual credentials
