Vertex is currently accepting applications for full-time Industrial Painter/ Sand Blaster located in Alida, SK. The successful candidate will provide maintenance for Vertex's equipment, semi-trucks and trailers.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in industrial painting and/or abrasive blasting.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation and industrial coating systems.
  • Experience operating spray-painting and blasting equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow coating specifications and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of lifting, standing, bending, and working in confined or demanding environments.
  • Valid driver's license is an asset.
  • Safety certifications and industrial experience are considered assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare truck tankers, trailers, and components for painting by cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and applying body filler as required.
  • Inspect surfaces for dents, corrosion, or damage and complete minor repairs before painting.
  • Mix paints, primers, hardeners, and coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Enter vessels using our confined space entry procedure and sand blast and apply tank coating as required
  • Apply primers, base coats, clear coats, and industrial coatings using spray equipment and other application methods.
  • Operate and maintain paint booths, spray guns, air compressors, and related painting equipment.
  • Ensure proper paint thickness, colour consistency, and finish quality.
  • Perform touch-ups, polishing, and finishing work to meet quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets customer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Complete production documentation and communicate repair or coating concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Assist with other shop duties as required.
  • Other duties as directed by your direct supervisor or manager
