We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Sanitation Worker to join our team at a fish processing facility in St. George, NB. The Sanitation Worker will be responsible for thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing production areas, equipment, tools, and common areas to ensure the facility meets food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize production lines, processing equipment, floors, walls, and work areas.
- Disassemble and clean equipment as required for proper sanitation.
- Use pressure washers, hoses, brushes, and other cleaning equipment.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and remove debris and waste from production areas.
- Clean and maintain common areas, washrooms, and other facility areas as assigned.
- Prepare and use cleaning and sanitizing solutions according to company procedures.
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals while following all required safety procedures.
- Follow all sanitation, food safety, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow proper procedures when cleaning around machinery and production equipment.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensure sanitation tasks are completed thoroughly and on time.
- Report equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards to a supervisor.
- Previous sanitation, janitorial, food processing, or industrial cleaning experience is an asset but not required.
- Previous experience working in a food or fish processing facility is an asset.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday on an evening/night shift, approximately 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean work environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established procedures.
- Ability to safely work with cleaning chemicals and required PPE.
- Ability to work in a wet, cold, and fast-paced processing environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required.
Shifts:
- 5pm-2am (Monday-Friday)
