As our client continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Project Engineer / Project Manager to join their Engineering Department in Burnaby, BC.

The Opportunity
As a Project Engineer / Project Manager, you will lead projects from planning through construction while working closely with clients, regulators, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
You'll have the opportunity to make meaningful technical decisions, mentor junior staff, develop client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of our client's Engineering practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage environmental engineering projects including scope, budget, schedule, quality, staffing, safety and client communications.
- Lead remedial option evaluations, stormwater infrastructure projects, wastewater system upgrades, landfill engineering projects, and environmental infrastructure assignments.
- Coordinate engineering design activities and provide technical leadership throughout project execution.
- Prepare and review technical reports, engineering designs, design briefs, specifications, contract documents, and tender packages.
- Conduct field reviews, oversee contractors, and provide construction support as required.
- Develop practical, innovative, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff through coaching, technical guidance, and project leadership.
- Support business development by delivering exceptional client service, identifying opportunities within existing client relationships, and contributing to proposal development and project pursuits.
- Participate in peer reviews and promote continuous improvement within the Engineering Department.
The successful candidate will possess both strong technical expertise and excellent project management skills, along with a genuine interest in building lasting client relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia.
- Minimum of 8 years of environmental consulting or related engineering experience.
- Experience managing engineering projects from initiation through completion.

- Collaborative approach with a passion for mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
