Work Arrangement: Onsite – 5 days per week
Hours: 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (excluding breaks)

We are seeking an experienced Web / WordPress Developer to support the development and modernization of public-facing and internal intranet websites for the Ontario Court of Justice.
The successful candidate will work closely with UX/UI designers, business stakeholders, technical teams, and project members to design, develop, implement, migrate, and maintain accessible, responsive, and user-focused WordPress websites.
Key Responsibilities- Develop enterprise websites and custom WordPress solutions.
- Translate UX/UI designs, wireframes, and specifications into functional web components.
- Develop custom WordPress themes, templates, plugins, and website components.
- Create custom code using PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Design and implement website graphics, navigation, and interactive components.
- Research, evaluate, and integrate WordPress plugins.
- Implement websites across staging and production environments.
- Migrate existing website content to new platforms and templates.
- Develop responsive websites for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Ensure websites comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA or higher accessibility standards.
- Apply AODA requirements and Government of Ontario web standards.
- Develop content strategies, metadata structures, information architecture, and content templates.
- Create and maintain web style guides and website maintenance documentation.
- Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, sitemaps, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Support website testing, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and implementation.
- Work with multiple stakeholders and provide technical recommendations.
- Train technical and business users on website maintenance and content management.
- Document and transfer knowledge to project managers and team members.
- 4+ years of experience in enterprise website analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Hands-on experience with:
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript
- PHP
- JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or Node.js
- Strong experience with WordPress and WordPress plugins.
- Experience with open-source technologies such as Linux, Git, Apache, Drupal, Solr, or Elasticsearch.
- Experience in interface design, implementation, and testing.
- Experience designing websites for multiple languages and audiences.
- Hands-on experience with web accessibility testing and WCAG 2.1 Level AA or higher.
- Strong understanding of responsive web design and cross-device compatibility.
- Experience developing and deploying WordPress solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Azure Web Services, WordPress as a Service, and database-as-a-service solutions.
- Experience implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) in Azure, including Microsoft Entra ID and Easy Auth.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile delivery environments.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools.
- Knowledge of AODA, Government of Ontario web standards, and the Ontario Design System.
- Experience with the LAMP stack.
- Experience with Windows Server, IIS, and web hosting configurations.
- Experience migrating websites between technology platforms.
- Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, Java, Angular, Node.js, Drupal, Twig, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with UX/UI and information architecture.
- Experience using design tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Zeplin, or OmniGraffle.
- Experience creating and managing content including blogs, presentations, animations, graphics, videos, and social media content.
- Experience developing metadata templates, content maps, sitemaps, and information architecture.
- Knowledge of web security, performance, scalability, recovery, and deployment best practices.
- Experience converting source documents into accessible web content.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on WordPress/Web Developer with strong enterprise web development, accessibility, responsive design, UX/UI implementation, and Azure experience. Experience working with government web standards, complex stakeholder environments, and large-scale website modernization initiatives is highly desirable.
