Burly Boyz Moving & Storage is hiring experienced commercial drivers to run our 3, 5 and 7-ton trucks and lead a moving crew in Edmonton. This is not a seat for someone who just wants to drive. The driver on our jobs is the person in charge, you run the crew on site, you own the customer's home and furniture from the first pad to the last signature, and you are responsible for the result. We are hiring for people who can do that better than most, and we are paying for it.

WHAT THE JOB IS

- Operate the truck safely in residential and urban Edmonton, with out-of-town and long-distance runs

- Complete your daily pre-trip inspection, report defects, and keep accurate E-logs (Samsara)

- Run the crew on site - assign the work, set the pace, train and correct helpers, and make sure the job is done right the first time

- Protect the customer's home and goods: padding, wrapping, floor protection, loading and securing the truck

- Do the lifting alongside your crew - furniture and boxes throughout the day, occasional lifts up to 100 lbs, stairs included

- Calculate the customer's bill, write the invoice, collect payment, and handle customer questions and problems on the spot

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Minimum 3 years paid commercial driving experience in Canada, 5-tonne or larger (straight truck, moving truck, delivery or freight)

- Class 5 or higher held for 3+ years

- Clean abstract or fewer than 3 infractions, no at-fault collisions in 3 years, no suspensions or impaired charges. Current abstract required before hire

- Proven leadership on a crew or job site - you have been the person responsible for other people's work and for the outcome when something went wrong, and you can give us examples

- Standards higher than the people around you: damage-free, on time, paperwork right, customer looked after without being asked

- Clear written and spoken English

- Legally able to work in Canada

- Early starts and a flexible schedule

PAY

- $70,000 $90,000 per year, based on experience and what you bring to the crew

- Tips average an additional $2-4/hr

- Raises are earned on results - damage, on-time performance, customer feedback, and how your crew performs under you

- Foreman track: we are building our Edmonton leadership from this hire. Drivers who run a consistently strong crew are first in line for foreman and operations roles

BENEFITS

- Full health and dental benefits after 3 months

- 2 set days off of your choosing

- Uniform provided

- Year-round, stable, full-time work

- Company events and a strong team culture

SCHEDULE & WORK DETAILS

- Full-time, typically 4550 hours per week

- More hours available on Long Distance jobs (up to 70) and for those who want them

- Flexible schedule that changes to accommodate our customers' needs

- Early start times

- In-person, physically demanding, safety-sensitive role

WHAT WE'LL ASK FOR

Your driving abstract, three years of verifiable Canadian work history, specific examples of leading a crew, and a hands-on skills and fitness evaluation with our foreman.
