POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Systems Lead is responsible for the effective operation, administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of the organization's core business systems, with a primary focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring that business systems, integrations, data, automation, and IT infrastructure effectively support the organization's operational needs. The Business Systems Lead will work closely with business leaders and end users to understand requirements, resolve issues, improve processes, and implement technology solutions that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. The successful candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, with the technical capability to administer systems directly while also identifying opportunities to improve processes, automate work, strengthen controls, and support future growth.

Anticipated Compensation Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year*

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
ERP & Business Systems:
- Own the day-to-day administration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including configuration, user administration, permissions, workflows, master data, reporting, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization.
- Serve as the primary internal point of contact and subject matter expert for Business Central.
- Action Business Central upgrades, patches, testing, configuration changes, integrations, and deployments.
- Ensure Business Central workflows, data structures, permissions, and reporting support operational requirements across departments.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, Project Management, and other stakeholders to identify system requirements and improve business processes.
- Identify process gaps and implement Business Central enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, controls, and visibility.
- Lead or support Business Central implementation projects, module deployments, integrations, and process redesign initiatives.
- Manage the integration of Business Central with other business applications and systems, ensuring reliable data flow and system performance.
- Evaluate and implement new business systems and applications that support organizational growth and operational requirements.
- Maintain appropriate system documentation, including configurations, integrations, processes, and procedures.
- Work with key stakeholders to improve data quality, accessibility, and utilization for operational and management decision-making.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools that support operational and management decision-making.
Automation & Process Improvement:
- Identify business processes that can benefit from automation, workflow optimization, or AI-enabled solutions.
- Lead automation initiatives using available technologies, workflow tools, Microsoft 365 capabilities, Business Central functionality, and other appropriate platforms.
- Develop practical use cases and guidelines for responsible AI adoption across the organization.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes, reduce duplication, improve data accuracy, and increase team productivity.
- Measure and report on productivity improvements and business outcomes resulting from automation and technology initiatives.
IT Infrastructure & Operations:
- Lead the organization's IT environment, including support for endpoints, hardware, software, user accounts, Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, and security tools.
- Oversee help desk and ticketing operations, ensuring timely resolution, appropriate escalation, and effective user support.
- Oversee the technology vendors, service providers, procurement, licensing, and budgets.
- Evaluate technology solutions based on business requirements, cost, security, scalability, and ROI.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to improve adoption and effective use of business systems.
Security & Governance:
- Maintain technology security policies, access controls, cybersecurity practices, and data governance.
- Ensure appropriate security, compliance, and protection of business systems and data.
- Monitor technology risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Maintain and test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
Operational Excellence:
- Provide direction, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions with team members and stakeholders.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, encouraging open communication, creativity, and accountability among team members.
- Other systems responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience of progressive systems experience.
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is required.
- Experience with IT hardware, help desk and ticketing support functions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach to driving process improvements and organizational change.
WORK CONDITIONS
- In-person-first workplace - approximately 1-2 days/week remote, based on role requirements.
- Required to remain in a stationary position at a desk for extended periods.
- Required to wear appropriate PPE while visiting company jobsites/manufacturing facilities.
