What You'll Learn
As an install apprentice, you'll build practical skills that create the foundation for a long-term career in residential HVAC, including:
- Residential furnace and air conditioning installations
- HVAC system components, configurations, and installation practices
- Proper use of tools, equipment, and materials
- Installation procedures and manufacturer specifications
- System setup, testing, and commissioning
- Job-site safety and industry standards
- Customer communication and professional conduct
- Efficient job-site organization and preparation
- Safe work procedures and quality installation practices
You'll work alongside experienced Lead Installers who are invested in helping you develop your technical knowledge, confidence, and ability to perform quality installations.
What You'll Do
Assist Lead Installer in Installations
- Assist the Lead Installer with the setup, installation, and commissioning of HVAC systems and components
- Follow direction precisely and help ensure installs are completed on time and to standard
- Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from the job site as required
Maintain Job Site Organization and Cleanliness
- Keep the job site clean, safe, and organized throughout the day and during end-of-day cleanup
- Track and manage tools, parts, and equipment to reduce time spent locating materials
- Support job site efficiency by preparing materials ahead of scheduled tasks
Learn and Develop Skills
- Actively participate in on-the-job learning and technical coaching from experienced team members
- Study and practice installation techniques, system configurations, and product specifications
- Seek feedback and ask questions to build trade knowledge and improve performance
- Complete required training modules, certifications, or assessments as assigned
Ensure Customer Satisfaction
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers
- Support the Lead Installer in answering basic customer questions or concerns
- Maintain a respectful, courteous demeanor in all customer-facing situations
- Ensure the work area is left clean and presentable at the end of each job
Adhere to Safety and Quality Standards
- Follow all company safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times
- Participate in safety meetings and daily hazard assessments before starting work
- Assist in ensuring all work meets quality standards and installation best practices.
- Report any safety hazards or quality concerns to the Lead Installer or supervisor immediately
What We're Looking For
We're looking for people who are eager to learn, take pride in their work, and want to build a long-term career.
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A valid Class 5 driver's license with a minimum of three years' driving experience and a clean driver's abstract.
- Eligibility to register as an apprentice and attend trade school
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to take direction and feedback
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team.
- The ability to work in a physically demanding environment and perform hands-on work
Previous HVAC or construction experience is an asset, but a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic are equally important to us.
