Are you the person everyone comes to when a difficult part needs to be programmed, a setup isn't working, or a machining problem needs to be solved?
We're hiring an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join a small custom precision machine shop in Vaughan.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys challenging, high-mix machining rather than running the same parts every day. You'll work on custom components, new programs and complex setups while also becoming a key technical resource for a small team of 4–5 machinists.
You do not need to be a formal supervisor. We're looking for a strong machinist who can take ownership of jobs, help organize work on the floor and support other machinists when needed.
What You'll Be Doing

• Program custom parts from drawings and models
• Create CNC programs from scratch
• Perform complete setups, prove-outs and first-offs
• Program and troubleshoot 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining centres
• Determine tooling, feeds, speeds and machining strategies
• Develop workholding and fixturing solutions
• Edit G-code and troubleshoot machining issues
• Machine complex, high-precision components
• Inspect your work and maintain tight tolerances
• Help prioritize jobs and keep work moving through the shop
• Provide technical support to other machinists when they run into difficult setups or machining problems
• Work closely with engineering on new and challenging parts

What We're Looking For

• Strong CNC programming and machining experience
• Custom machine shop, job shop, tool & die, mold/mould or similar high-mix machining experience
• Ability to program parts from scratch
• Strong CNC milling and full setup experience
• Experience with 3, 4 and/or 5-axis machining
• Experience with Mastercam or another advanced CAM platform such as PowerMill, Cimatron, Hypermill, NX or TopSolid
• Strong understanding of tooling, feeds/speeds, workholding and G-code
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T
• Experience producing precision components and working with tight tolerances
• Strong troubleshooting and machining problem-solving skills

Lead Hand or supervisory experience is an asset, but not required. We're equally interested in senior machinists and programmers who have naturally become the go-to technical person in their shop. Compensation

• $40.00–$45.00/hour
• Performance bonus
• Straight days: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:00 PM
• Overtime opportunities
• 3 weeks vacation, negotiable to 4 weeks
